I”ve been looking for an online space with no fences, no red-lining, no borders, and no algorthims.
For my part; I’ve been #DeColonizing, #DeCluttering, and #Minimalizing my writing, photography, and thinking for some time. Years. Noble, yet daunting.
Now, I’m coming in for a landing.
A new friend was lamenting that the airlines lost her luggage (totally, hasn’t been found) and all I could think was; “why can’t I loose my baggage that easily?”
My online baggage consists of Facebook, Messenger, and YouTube. I’ve been able to offload Twitter, LinkedIn, blogs, email newsletters and websites rather easily. Family and friends complain that I change email addys way too much. I can’t wait for their outcry when I eventually dump Facebook, Messenger, and YouTube.
No Fences. No Red-lining. No Borders. And No Algorthims.
I’m looking to build a community grounded in culture, truthful history, and humanity.
I’m looking to join communities that are involved in writing, photography, family history, and using tools that will free ourselves from oppression, subjugation, and the tyrannies of the world.
Substack tells me that readers love clarity. I get that. So let me start by saying that I’m un-apologetically African in Ancestry and spirit. In order for me to DeColonize, DeClutter, and Minimalize my writing, photography, and thinking, I have to look at my experiences and those of my elders and Ancestors to gain a full understanding and a clear picture of where this community can go. Are you with me Substack?
Some housekeeping. I may post a bunch of stuff initially and then taper off to a twice-a-week offering. The paywall is way down the road. Let’s have a conversation, please leave comments, and simply ‘Get In Where You Fit In!’
